Jeff, your thoughts on the essence of the Warrior and Caregiver states are so wonderfully nuanced and expansive. I found myself pausing repeatedly, slowing down to take it all in. Finding balance between the two, the complexity of seeking equanimity, is at the heart of it. Yes, standing in the stream
I’m now at the point in my life where my parents are long gone, and my child is nearly forty, so life is simpler and I have the gift of time to reflect. Not so much to look back, but to learn how to live the remaining years with more grace, learning how to balance my warrior self with the caregiver.
I’m deeply grateful for you and the wonder that I stumbled across this community.
Best wishes for a delightful, if chaotic, visit with your extended family.
Thank you, Tamar, we survived, was definitely full on. Very happy you found your way to this community. Standing in the stream, that’s it, standing and surfing. I’m still trying to understand what that means!
Whenever we think we understand how to make our way, something will happen that brings us to our knees. But then… an opening emerges where we can go deeper. The wonder of it all is that the more painful the moments of anguish, the more exhilarating the moments of joy. The beautiful delicious mess of being here.
I love the Warrior and Caregiver so much (I also love the artwork you use).To you Jeff and your team, for your guidance, teachings and generosity…Happy Holidays and a heartfelt thank you. 🙏
Good timing….very suddenly on December 24 I went in an ambulance to St Paul’s hospital. Then experienced a cardioversion where first I was given a small amount of propofol, then my heart was shocked to normal rhythm. Now on blood thinners for a bit which scares me quite a lot. So thanks Jeff….will do your meditation then binge watch Netflix. As someone with self diagnosed ADHD there seems no end to rumination about all the possibilities. 😵💫😵💫❤️❤️
Thank you for this, I let my warrior self take over and ended up in the emergency room this morning with my heart going crazy, All is well now, and I am listening to my caregiver self. I wil read and reread this as a reminder to be equanimous. May your time with your family be joyful.
"A state of dynamic engagement with self and world, of endless becoming without ever needing to arrive." Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. Thank you, as always Jeff and team. Hope you all enjoy a well deserved holiday break 🙏
Jeff, this was the perfect way to wrap up the year. I’m incredibly thankful for your connection and the mindful space you hold for all of us. It’s hard to believe I stumbled across you back in 2019—it’s been such a blessing ever since. I can't wait to see what’s in store for our practice in the new year. Keep growing and keep shining! Enjoy every moment with your family. 🙏🏽🫶🏽
A phrase of my late father’s that helps guide my life is, “There’s got to be a balance”. It was kinda his life motto. Were he still alive today, I think he would embrace the term “equanimity”. While there are certainly times when I need to allow either my Warrior or Caregiver sway the lead, flowing back to a state of equanimity is what keeps me sane.
Absolutely love the Warrior & Caregiver. Thank you Jeff this really resonated with me. Yet again you continue to really help me on my meditation journey. Wishing you & family a lovely fun time together. I am very grateful for what you do 🙏
Once again, well expressed, Jeff - I appreciate you and your deft communication skill. Ever since I realized that I'm pretty much just along for the ride, I've repeatedly had the sensation of simultaneously riding multiple waves, each in its own frequency. And all this while not on drugs, lol. Your ability to communicate barely tangible experience in a weave of definitions, poetry and standup creates connection and camaraderie :)
Thank you for everything Jeff! Big love to your amazing family and support network that sustain you through all of life’s intricacies and rollercoaster rides so you can provide all this beautiful content for us. Thank you to this great community. May we all be able to find beautiful peace moments this season and into the new year and beyond.
Thanks Malaya! I’m dictating this response at Science World, in Vancouver, which I think is your hometown, right? The kids are going crazy. They love it. Wishing you all the best in 2026 and beyond.
Yay!! Yeah you’re in my hometown hood!!! (We’re in the burbs of Burnaby) Have fun with your kids at Science World and with your fam here!!! ! Hope you like our no-snow/barely snow winters!!! 😀 🌲🎅🏽🎄
Thank you Jeff!🙏
The perfect meditation for all of our exhausted “holiday souls” trying to be “good warriors” in the face of so much collective suffering.
Beautifully articulated
Beautiful message
Beautiful reminder to take time to nurture ourselves and to remember that even good warriors need some TLC!❤️
Love you Jeff and appreciate you taking such good care of us! Think I’ll go have another little cry now and know it’s OK! 😁❤️🎄
Appreciate you too Kay, thanks for these kind words

Thanks so much, Jules, you too friend
Perfect timing for this reminder that we are both, warrior & caregiver. And, especially, that our warrior is kind and caring. Thank you, Jeff.

I resonate with what you wrote, as establishing a consistent feedback loop is esential for sustainable practice, much like in algorithmic refinement.
I never thought about it that way 🌈 - the virtuous algorithmic feedback loop!
