Get Ridiculous! + 9-Minute Meditation

When things get hard, it can help to get silly
illustration by community member David Kantrowitz

Sometimes life sucks. We feel demoralized and crushed by circumstances.

Occasionally when I’m in this headspace, I decide all that can be done is to disarm my desolation with ridiculousness. Something unexpected can happen then.

And that’s what we’re going to do together. If you’re offended by this meditation, good. Now you have some energy. Go run around the block and howl to the moon gods.

Let’s meditate.

A few quick notes—

  • New to Home Base? We have over 70 free guided meditations in our audio library, over 60 extended meditations, over 365 meditations on YouTube, and a growing number of community practice videos. New writing, new audio meditations, and new DNP live community practice sessions happen every week.

  • Did you find me on Calm or Happier? While the meditations I recorded for the apps live on in perpetuity, I no longer record new meditations for them. My latest work happens here; becoming a paid subscriber is the best way to support that work. I give paid scholarships to anyone who asks (email info@jeffwarren.org). THIS WEEK ON THE MIND BOD ADVENTURE POD

In this week’s episode of The Mind Bod Adventure Pod, we take a deep dive into the dynamics of giving, receiving, taking, and allowing with guest Betty Martin.

Why does Jeff gush that Betty is the next Buddha? Because Jeff is overly-excitable! And because Betty’s Wheel of Consent is about much more than just sex and touch. It’s about how we’re human with each other. Her model of consent is now taught in dozens of communities around the world. Among other things, the practice teaches communication and boundaries, integrity and self-awareness, generosity and gratitude, vulnerability and connection.
