I am reminded of Vicktor Frankl’s philosophy of “If one has a ‘why’ they can suffer most any ‘how’. Frankl endured years of Nazi concentration camps by asserting his belief in the goodness of mankind despite being mired in the horrors of the Holocaust. Carving out the moments in life to focus on and be mindful of the beauty beneath the chaos of modern life does not happen passively but may require dedication and practice to achieve. Frankl called it “the will to live” and recognized it is a choice.
I find dictating short gratitude notes is also super helpful - it's a way of honouring the little good things both as they happen, and - when I do this before bed - after the fact.
The glacial slow spread of appreciation into my consciousness real estate, ha!
So easy, yet so powerful. "Little good things" - allows me to stop, breathe, put things back into perspective. So simple, so wonderful. Thank you, Jeff 🙏

Toronto or NY ?
"..the joy of biking on even terrain between Grand Prix displays of gargoyles driving shiny Lambos""... Montréal this Sunday...
Terrible amused by tourists hordes taking pictures of cars while in historical old Montréal not even glancing at some uniquely Montréal layered cultural history ... whatever is memorable I assume... but then, Dubai might be for sure a better spot ?!
Many small enjoyable moments indeed..
And I also enjoyed drinking my daughter's fav bubble tea manga themed drink...
Love this Beth! Would love to hear what everyone’s little good thing is today. Today mine is the first taste of homemade iced tea- which means it’s summer.
What an awesome go-to meditation. I woke up this morning with victim syndrome because technology is getting in the way. First I realised after a bit of “suffering”. What would a day without tech would be? That didn't appease me. But gave me something new to build an intention around. Then this meditation reminded me how well I feeling healthwise and how perfect the weather is today for London standards. By time I opened my eyes, the which just started, had turned into a magical one full of possibilities. Highly recommended. So simple and so wonderful. Thank you

"Sometimes that's all you can manage". Thank you for affirming that sometimes noticing one little good thing is good enough.
Bricks and mortar enlightenment!
Well said.
Very refreshing.. was just contemplating how as the day goes, I lose track of stopping and noticing. This was a great reminder.
I am going to listen to this everyday
Transformed me in 9min 🤩

Yes so true, and I don’t do it
I am putting a journal next to my bed right now!
And I will have your meditation and a journal as my bedtime practice
Thank you - you are helping me to change my momentum!
