“That is the exploration that awaits you! Not mapping stars and studying nebula, but charting the unknown possibilities of existence!”– Leonard Nimoy
‘Tis the dawning of a newlyish era!
This coming week, superpal
and I are releasing the second season of (formerly known as the Consciousness Explorers Podcast). Season two is bigger and better and more video-ish and slap-happy-ish and the source of much joy for me and for Tasha and I hope for you. Here’s the trailer: is also on Substack. It’s a big part of what I offer in the world, a fun and ecumenical take on the the many glorious forms of mind-body practice that can support us in life. Please consider subscribing – we need the eyeball support, plus it’s free. New episodes come out every Tuesday:How to Explore Your Mind and Bod
Below is a guided meditation on HOW to explore your mind and body – the attitude, the balance of curiosity and receptivity, and directions to a few local destinations.
Here I’d like to share briefly about the WHY – why explore your mind and body? There’s so much to say on the matter that I can already feel my perineum contract in uptightness. Thus I will disarm my mind by keeping it short and using bullet points:
Because it’s fun. OK, maybe its a bit drooly and underwhelming at first – but it gets fun! And then it gets hard, and surprising, and sobering – and then it gets fun again! And so on.
Because you double the size of reality – now you can go IN and well as go OUT.
Because you bring your mind and body to everything you do. Small internal adjustments can make a huge difference.
Because as we develop more literacy about subtle aspects of our internal experience, we find more healing and agency and understanding directed towards more of life. That’s what expanding awareness means. We need this if we want to respond to life’s rapid changes in sane and creative and constructive ways.
Because Big Questions like “What is the meaning of life?”, “Who am I?”, “Why do I exist?” , “What is the nature of consciousness?” – these are not only philosophical questions. They are also experiential questions. That is, they are inquiries that you can explore right here in your immediate experience. You have all the equipment you need. What’s more, you can make progress – you can find real “answers.” You can come to deeply satisfying conclusions that have nothing to do with some scientific or religious theory of how things are. I can’t emphasize this enough. Life will show itself to you. But you have to get past just thinking about things, and actually make your visit.
Because you are sacred.
Now let’s meditate!
Love,
Jeff

This was quite wonderful. I love your humor and enjoying the cosmic chuckle.
