I'm at a point now where just the tone and cadence of your voice triggers my parasympathetic nervous system. I've tried to share with some folks that they have a pharmacy in their heads that they can tap into at just about any time. No prescription required. Thank you, Jeff.
Greg, I have a similar experience to hearing Jeff’s voice and even when I see that he has posted a new meditation— it’s like Pavlovian conditioning! In this case, my system begins to quiet in anticipation of the reward. I think of it as part of my ritual, preparing my body and mind to be open to his thoughts.
Thanks for sharing your wise and nourishing words. It always a comfort to relate to what you say and feel an immediate ahhh at the sound of your voice. Yes this is great medicine and with your daily trips and Home base I am in the habit of feeding my soul even if my mind may go somewhere else! Grateful for you:)
I'm enjoying Raising Hare, a book by Chloe Dalton. Chloe is a policy/strategy type who encounters a day old leveret (hare) and takes it in. Chloe's side of the story fills a vacuum about the nature of hares, including a whole chapter about the hare's home base. It also has a spiritual side about connecting with nature. I thought it might be of interest to others in Jeff's Home Base community. Cheers
This looks amazing Rosemary, thank you for the recommendation! I love reading books about humans and animals. I loved H is for Hawk and Tribe of Tiger and the Philosopher and the Wolf. Next stop… hares!
What the mysteries of meditation Jeff has taught on any platform, has been a blessing to me. I feel them look, listen for them each sit !! Grateful and peaceful best description, for each moment! 🙏☺️
Thanks Jeff! Loved this. I'm feeling a little sick too and didn't feel like practicing so it was so nice to do it together. Always so good to spend time with you.
I couldn’t say it much better than you folks. Eternally grateful for you, Jeff, and all the others as we meditate together. Woke at 2:45 in the morning and this was perfect medicine to calm my jumpy mind. You are so gifted Jeff. Deeply grateful to you for sharing your gift. It has shifted my whole world.
Thank you Jeff, for being you, and for sharing this space with all of us. Thank you fellow travelers for being here with me.
This meditation felt like a gentle hand touching my cheek, soothing and filled with love. You wove together different strands of practice with grace and ease -- and reminded me to let go of expectations, reminded me to let go of looking for a right way. Particularly powerful was the mystery and interconnectedness. The mystery that what was needed arrived just when I needed it. That what was needed was offered in friendship. Part of that mystery was finding myself here.
❤️❤️ The mystery and the interconnection are what get bigger for me too the longer I practice. It’s hard to find the words, but of course you don’t need the words. I love reading your comments every week Tamar, appreciate you. And your art is pretty amazing too!
Ditto! You all have stated far more eloquently than I can but the fact remains the same, Jeff’s voice at the first moment the meditation begins I feel tension and stresses melting away. What a gift for all of us Jeff ❤️Gratitude to you for being you!
Super curious about the online retreat @ CEC in January. Has anyone on here been to an online retreat before? And does anyone have any tips on how to set themselves up for a retreat-like experience in their own home? Or should I book myself a room in a cabin/hotel to avoid falling into home routines during the in-between times?
Jules, there are different ways to do it. Ideally, you can really clear the space - and if you do have the opportunity to get away to a quiet cabin, that could be perfect – so you can practice between sessions and go deeper into the insights and the quiet.
On the other hand, people who can’t get away have reported that just dipping in throughout the day is its own kind of support.

I find this so hilarious and unexpected. Me and Skinner.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love that. Jack Kornfield's voice? Same thing. Good old 3 lb. jello recorder! :)
Same!
Greg
Whatever my mood - the first sentence I here from Jeff and I feel my body settling💓
❤️ it’s crazy to me that somehow this has happened in life. It’s an honour, Greg to be part of the pharmacy in your head!
And there’s the title of your next band- Head Pharmacy
Isn’t it so cool?! This is a lovely aspect of our brain, yay brain! 💗💓💗💓 also yay Jeff for putting himself out there 🥰🥰🥰

Thank you, April!
I like your opening phrase “organize your body.” As well as your perennial reminder “keep going.” So happy to find you on Substack. 👍🙏
Yes, organizing my body literally sorts my body and my mind.

Thanks Jeff! Upon reflection I think dipping in will be a perfect on ramp to more intensive retreat settings. Really looking forward to it!
Loved this on my Sunday morning after a busy but fun family party. This nourishment is sweet! Thank you 🧡
Thank you so much Jeff, this was extraordinary 🩷🙏
