The Opposite of a Little Kid's Berserk Birthday Party
The Do Nothing Project with Jeff Warren, April 21, 2024
I survived a weekend of kid birthday parties – loud kiddie pop, the sickly sweet smell of icing sugar, pools of melted ice cream as well as angry melted toddlers – thus I come to today’s recording feeling quite frazzled and strung out. What to do? Start with asking what we need, which may not be meditation. In this edition of The Do Nothing Project, we tune into the life of the body.
Oh yeah - in the friendliness practice, I mention Caroline Casey and a superb Syrian practice of offering generously poetic blessings. Here is Casey with an example: "May the divine sprinkle your path with rose petals that you and all your children and your goats may prosper … may there be gardenias always around you, may unexpected buyers for your carpet show up …" etc
