Jeff, I too am bipolar. Thrown in acute 6 week undiagnosed manic after severe trauma Nov 22, I began memorizing rhymed, rhythmic, poems (Robert frost: stopping, nothing gold, two roads, etc) to balance my severe polarity. Now, nearly 3 years later, lamotrigine BID, other meds, prof care, time, medication, meditation, this memorizing of poetry helps. Now: your magic robot “may” support stability in real life situations in real time. See hear feel: perfect. Your sense of humor rare, makes me laugh. And I desperately need that TOO. Thank you Jeff Warren. “I’ll love u til the day I die” George Bailey (James Stewart). ❤️‍🔥

LIsa! I'm on Lamotrigine too - life saver! Welcome to the upstairs-downstairs bipolar club. Glad the magic robot will finally be tested for stability, that probably should have happened on the production line ...!

Ah! That was my hit of Feel Good for the day. :-) Thank you for sharing your meditation teacher with me. I'm forever grateful that it was you at the crossroads when I arrived there. And you said hey, check out this teacher called Shinzen Young! I am an amateur magic robot today because of it! 😁❤

Things are a bit mixed up for me right now as I’m in the middle of some health challenges and have to have some tests done this week. So working not to freak out and this really helped. Good vibes welcome and appreciated from fellow robots.

Hi, sending lots of love and support. 💜 Been there so many times with health challenges and the tests stuff. Sorry you are going through it. It’s hard. But you are on the right track meditating. Keep up with the meditations and ground regularly. Try to stay in your body and not your head as much as possible. I also journaled and did art a lot through the really rough times. Big virtual hugs.

I agree! I loved this meditation. The focus on seeing, hearing and feeling was very useful to keep the monkey mind in check. And yes! Always smiles. Thanks, Jeff!

Hmm. I think I understand the intention of this meditation, but maybe this wasn't the right moment for me. Or maybe this isn't the right meditation for me. Or maybe it is something about mental noting -- something I struggle with. Although I am okay with a one word mental note 'thinking' and don't get sucked into examining the content of my thoughts, it is different for sensory experiences. My tendency is to be descriptive of sensations rather than limit myself to labeling the experience with a one word note. Seeing becomes ooh look at these amazing colors I'm seeing behind my eyelids. Feeling becomes I can feel the weight of my butt on the chair or ouch that was a twinge across my shoulder blade. and so on. I don't dwell on the sensations, but I seem to always do more than simply note them. I wonder if I would have a different experience with one word notes if I tried this when I was feeling agitated.

Jeff this is soooo good! Like your previous version of “Robots Don’t Freak Out”, you help us see how mental noting is grounding. Thank you for doing it again. 🤖

Again, the perfect thing at the perfect time. I’m in the middle of a series of “turn back” meditations led by Shinzen, and I don’t mind saying that I’m a little (or a lot) lost. This was a nice little palate cleanser to get me grounded without feeling like I’m completely abandoning Shinzen’s plan 😉.

Thank you - what a perfect meditation for my morning commute by train today! I heard so many more subtle sounds than I usually notice and it helped reground me when my thoughts started swirling and spiraling, as they always do
