Oh man! That’s a lot Jeff. September is always hectic and the move (any move!) back to BC is stressful. Sending you, Sarah and your kids lots of calming, getting settled and more sleep energy.

Adding on: thanks for this great meditation - really needed it!! Had to care for my husband who got really sick, now we’re both sick whilst my siblings and I are dealing with different powers of attorney and legal stuff and care of our mother exhibiting signs of early dementia. Sending much love to everyone feeling and going through a lot…💜

Malaya- sending you love and courage. You’ve got so much on your plate right now, and even so have the bandwidth to respond to Jeff’s situation with understanding. Rest up when you can. ❤️

That sounds so hard. I never had any children and I sometimes don’t know how folks do it. Sending so much love and gentle hugs and boundaries and regulation to all in the Sarah and Jeff household. Thank you for sharing this meditation. ❤️‍🩹

Jeff, oodles of love and hugs to you, Sarah, and your boys. For young kids the transition from summer back to school is stressful under the best of conditions, and the move back to BC adds another layer of disruption to jagged nervous systems. Yes, it can be about setting boundaries and trying not to get hooked by someone else’s neediness, but they’re your kids. As parents, we are only as happy as our unhappiest child, as calm as our most freaked out child. And if everyone is bouncing off the walls, it’s hard to create a space for calm.

In high stress situations I try to use what I’ve learned from you. Not just to remember to pause, but to give myself permission to do so. The pause makes the recentering possible. It can break the spell of the escalating craziness for everyone in the room.

😘

Oh Jeff. I feel you. Nothing to offer here except that I know you’re doing your best and that’s enough. You’ll all make it through. Sending love.

This is an elixir .. a balm on a big open soar I have been working on for a mighty long time !! Many thanks for your ability and wisdom to call it out and be so real and spot on.

Love you Jeff Warren ❣️

My parents were authoritarian and that had horrible consequences mainly because they were also disregulated. Idk what the solution is but keep your heart open and forgive yourself for not being prefect. This too shall pass.

When you learn the answers, please share (I am a grandparent to 3 rowdy girls, 1, 3 and 5).

I keep looking for the solution but circle back to - as long as they know you LOVE THEM. I sure hope that works in the long run.
