Thank you for this reminder that we have a choice as to where we place our attention, particularly when the outside world offers us chaos. I’ve found that shifting my gaze away from the noise takes different forms at different moments. Sometimes what works for me is sitting in stillness, at other times it may be dancing with abandon, or bringing my full presence to listening to a favorite Bach cello suite. Listening to my body helps me find what I need in that moment. 🙏❤️
Congratulations, Tasha!! You are awesome, and I am so happy that a major app is picking you up. I hope you make Happier an even better app for meditators!
Needed this meditation tonight. Spot on. Against all the odds, you even managed to get me smiling half way through (at the suggestion of going all delinquent). Much appreciated Jeff 🙏
Thank you, Jeff. I have been in Fight/Flight often since war began, fearing the future. This meditation helped! Also, this is my first non-CALM meditation of yours. I adore your ADHD series. I will keep coming back now!
This year I am undertaking a series of what I call walking retreats. I will walk starting at an hour and ending with a full day in silence. What I seek is a practice, koan, thought, mantra etc. that I can work with during these moving retreats.
Just wanted to check-in on this one. So glad I finally stopped telling myself I didn't have time to do this today and dumb things like "I'll be more focused if I do it tomorrow." Nonsense. That type of intrusive stupid thinking actually substantiates the need to do it! Thankfully I eventually heard myself say "Enough with the bullshit Richard. Sit." :):)
So, it's like, back to basics here. Found the settling unusually quickly tonight and really sort of felt energy channels open up through the stillness. I experienced this sensation of physically sinking into "now" and noticing the almost euphoric comfort that can be found here.
There is so much insanity out there, so much insanity in here (my special brain)....and it's SO SO easy when I don't sit with the regularity that I aim for to forget that I CAN find safety and comfort in the practice, as well as make some better choices and decisions afterwards.
And it's always like, DUH. Why do I consistently forget this, and then consistently have exactly this exact "lather, rinse, repeat" experience afterwards. :) Because that is just life and being a human!
Thank you for this. Finding some space where my mind isn't jumping ahead, assessing every possible outcome, is becoming a very difficult needle to thread. I think the acknowledgement that I am not alone in this grief space gives me a moment of comfort and strength.

She is set to do exactly that…
Thanks Big J much needed and shared to my daughter in Kuwait at this time of fear and insecurity.
She lives alone and this will help her through the nightly air raid warnings and give us chance to share in something simple with compassion . 🙏🏼🫶🏻
That must be stressful for you, Geoff. Hope she stays safe.
Thanks so much Big J ..she’s doing okay and very resilient 🙏🏼

Glad it helped Sam, it’s the meditation I’ve been doing!

Great to meet you here Professor Hillary
Thank you! I definitely need your meditation today! I love that I don’t have to lie down to do it.

Sounds like a fine idea. I really enjoyed John Tarrents Bring me the Rhinoceros and Other Zen Koans - , could be a good book for inspiration.

Definitely not alone Cassandra.
