Fractals, infinitely complex patterns that are self-similar at various sizes & scales, exist in us and in nature. They show up in fern fronds, pinecones, romanesco broccoli, the nautilus shell, and even our own blood vessels. As the up-and-out logarithmic spiral grows wider, its shape and pattern stay the same, reminding us that what we practice at the small scale sets the patterns for the entire system.
As a math teacher and meditation guide, Brooke shares this as a helpful framing for how our meditation practice relates directly to our world. Brooke gently guides us to settle in, notice, and become available to what we long for, while encouraging us to practice exactly that - because, like fractals, when we practice our longing, it spirals out and sets the pattern for our whole world. It’s math! We are romanesco broccoli.
